Anna Elisabeth von Erlach (1856-1906) Swiss artist. After initial training at Basle Art School she continued to take lessons from such noted artists like Karl Gussow in Berlin and Eduard Gebhardt in Dusseldorf.
I the late 1880s she also studied with Jean Jacques Henner and Emile and Pauline Carolus Duran.
This very pre Raphaelite portrait is signed lower right and dated 1886.
Anna von Erlach stopped painting in 1893.
The painting is housed in its original Chapman Brothers of Kings Road, Chelsea frame.
