Michael Oelman's The Journeys of Icarus

This wonderful collection created by Michael Oelman and published in 1981came to me by chance following a house clearance.

Once I had seen that it was in its original condition, coupled with the warm undimmed colours I had to have it. Since acquisition I have not missed the opportunity to show it to my small but growing band of customers.

Each time I view the seven etchings and Oelman's version of the story of Icarus there is still a sense of wonder and hope and the overcoming of adversity.

Between us, I much prefer this version than the classical one.

There is a certain symmetry in the other of things as I have acquired a second complete set of The Journeys of Icarus which now hang on the walls of my little lair/shop/office in Hampstead.
