Henry Anelay was a British 19th century artist who painted both landscapes and portraits.

Some of his work can be seen at Oxford Brookes University.

This unusual work depicts the roof tops of Venice in the late afternoon with an interested serving maid peering out of the window at some local men.

It is signed and titled Venice April 1879.
